Musk is a foundation note used to give perfume softness, diffusion and a lingering skin-like effect. Its character ranges from clean and airy to powdery, creamy, warm or subtly animalic, depending on the materials around it. Musk pairs naturally with rose, jasmine, iris, citrus, vanilla, sandalwood and patchouli.
