Rose in men’s fragrance is rarely just a sweet floral note. Depending on the variety and surrounding materials, it can smell dewy and petal-soft, crisp and green, or dark, dry and spicy. Perfumers usually place rose in the heart, where it gives a composition a clear floral center without determining its overall character.

In men’s fragrances, rose is often shaped with woods, oud, patchouli, leather, saffron, citrus or musk.
