Patchouli is a leafy, earthy material with a woody, slightly camphoraceous profile and a dry, textured depth. In men’s fragrance, it is most often used as a base note, where its persistent character gives a composition structure and lasting warmth. Depending on the blend, patchouli can smell clean and woody, dark and resinous, or smooth and almost chocolate-like.
